A day in my shoes: Zainab Al Alawi

Since the month of March was a bit hectic, we kind of missed our monthly segment. But not to worry our fellow readers, we decided that April will be a month to showcase two stylish gals for 'A day in my shoes'.

Our first segment feature is Zainab Al Alawi, a Bahraini fashion consultant & designer who was sweet enough to send us pictures to be featured. Thank you honey!

Name: Zainab Al Alawi
Age: 22
Occupation: Fashion Consultant & Designer

Describe your style in 3 words.
Sophisticated, feminine & fierce.

What is the one to-go fashion piece that completes your overall look?
What really completes my overall outfit is confidence; you will look the best if you feel your best!! However, my favourite fashion piece is a statement scarf, it is my fashion secret that instantly transforms my outfit.

Who is your style icon?
Olivia Palermo!

What designer or retail store reflects your personal style?
I love Phillip Lim, Red Valentino, Chloe, Topshop & Zara for feminine & desirable sophistication with a twist. I love Elie Saab's designs as well, they are breathtaking, very girly, appealing, classy & divine.

What are your current favourite trends?
Besides pastels. I can't get enough of the perfectly lady-like peplum trend that we saw on the runways of Jason Wu, Vera Wang & Proenza Schouler. Everyone is hooked on the instant hourglass shape that this extra ruffle gives.

Digital imaging is also one of my favorites, the title says it all! the trend ruled the runways of british designers such as Christopher Kane, Mary Katrantzou & Mathew Williamson.

Song of the day: Shadows fill an empty heart as love is fading, from all the things that we are but are not saying, can we see beyond the stars and make it to the dawn? Change the colors of the sky and open up to, the ways you made me feel alive, the ways I loved you, for all the things that never died to make it through the night, love will find you.
